An evaluation of settlement planning policies as applied in Sri Lanka with special reference to the settlement programme of the Mahaweli Development Prioject

Abstract

In Sri Lanka, different concepts and various ' policies have been adopted in the planning of settlements. Under the Mahaweli Development Project, the strategies adopted were different compared to the early settlement schemes and to the multi-purpose projects. Hence, an evaluation of such policies becomes very essential.
