dc.description.abstract This study is concerned with the utilization of land vested in Land Reform Commission under the Law No: 1 of 197 2 and (Amendment) Law No: 3 9 of 1975 . The discussion in the study has been carried out in three Parts. Part I is introductory. It provides the information about the background to land reformer , the obstacles and other aspects in relation to land reform in various countries. It also discusses the historical perspective of land reform in Sri Lanka while special attention is drawn to the land tenure patterns, availability of land and other aspects such as land settlements.
