dc.description.abstract | Windows have a major effect on the internal environment, owing to the many different functions they perform. a window can be defined as an opening in the side of a building envelope by which make the interaction between the interior and exterior and exterior environment. The interactions that take place are the factors of light, wind, radiant heat gain, views, sounds etc. Windows like other building elements, usually contain adjustable elements and are composed of a number of layers, which perform different functions. The walls, floor and ceiling define a space (by define a space) by enclosing it. Size and distribution of its opening will influence the degree of enclosure and the quality of space. This determining factors for the quality of the space are propotion, scale, degree of enclosure etc. As mentioned before the degree of enclosure, light and views are controlled by the windows. | |
