Management of the built environment along main roads : a study with special reference to selected areas of Colombo - Kandy road

Abstract

Traveling through streets creates pleasure associated with the experience one gain by means of senses. These experiences were associated with time and movement ans kind of a temporal art. This temporal art is different from other arts such as music. Where more control and limited sequences of area used considering the sequences of experiences gaining traveling through streets. One can find relationship between these experiences and existing socio - cultural, socio economic, and historical ideologies, which help one to establish existence with the built environment around him.
