dc.description.abstract |
Buttala iron ore deposit is considered as the largest Magnetite iron ore deposit found in Sri Lanka. Although several researches have been carried out based on Sri Lankan iron ores, yet sufficient researches have not been carried out regarding Buttala iron ore. The processed iron ore is used in modern industry rather than use of iron ore lumps. In this process, the Buttala iron ore is processed into iron ore pellets using Aruwakkalu lime and coke. An attempt was made to study the effect of Aruwakkalu lime and the firing perature on the properties of Buttala magnetite iron ore pellet |
