The construction industry with in nature is being changed continuously and disputes are
getting increased. By allowing disputes, it begins to consume resources, to disrupt site
management and to damage relations between the parties. There is lack of dispute
management in present construction industry. Consequently, the aim of this research is to
investigate the required skills for a dispute management expert. Henceforth the awareness of the skills among dispute management experts is expected. This research gives on the perspective views of dispute experts in construction industry through semi-structured interviews and questionnaire survey and data were analysed descriptively with thematic summaries. The findings give dispute avoidance, crystallisation and resolution, as the process of dispute management and dispute management expert able to guide every construction professionals to, manage construction disputes. The research concludes with the set of specific skills, which are communication skills, problem solving skills, management skills and human relation skills. |
