dc.description.abstract | Sundial is a very simple instrument used to read time. The principle is the motion of the sun during sunrise and sunset. Usually a shadow of a stick or an edge can be set to fall on a calibrated dial so that during the course of sun's motion in the daytime the shadow also travels on that dial indicating time at any instance. Unlike in usual clocks, sundials have an anticlockwise dial. | en_US |
