dc.description.abstract Garnet sand deposits of Sri Lanka mainly consist of natural industrial garnets and is potentially an important raw material in the manufacture of abrasive powders and papers owing to their abrasive qualities, availability and low material cost. With a view to establishing the most efficient and economical method of processing the above deposits, the present research project was launched by the Department of Mining & Mineral Engineering, University of Moratuwa, in collaboration with the Industrial Development Board of Sri Lanka. en_US
