Abstract:
According to the present energy scenario in Sri Lanka, out of whole electricity generation 65% nerated by fossil fuel and it is a large fraction of the total imports. In this situation, utilization of wable energy for electricity generation is very important to reduce the requirement of foreign mcy. Wind and solar energy has been identified as promising available renewable energy resources then small-scale grid connected wind and solar systems are being promoted and hope to introduce uraging net-metering in-feed tariff rates. The focal point of this study is evaluation of the economic ility of the solar and wind home power systems to verify suitable in-feed tariff rates. The current <et price of the systems and operational cost mainly depend on the size and type of the model. In this

The hourly based energy irations were evaluated by the power curve of the small wind system and performance of the solar jm for available solar and wind resource data in different locations in the country.
