Abstract:
Increasing interest in the use of renewable energy for power sector in Sri Lanka
has already created a boom in incorporation of wind power generation. However, wind profiles are subjected to continuous intermittency by the nature, therefore the wind power generated undergo fluctuations dynamically. Response to such perturbations of wind depends on the type of the wind generator. This paper presents dynamic modelling of a fixed speed asynchronous wind generator using PSS/E software. The model
can be used to study the response of the fixed speed asynchronous wind generator under different load and fault conditions.
