dc.description.abstract Providing travel facilities for employees is an essential role in any company in local or overseas today. Managing such travel activities in an organized manner, matters mostly for providing a high-quality service for employees. This project is developed to the customer Marakanda Sweden AB, in order to improve the handling of official traveling expenses within the company. The final objective of the system is to reduce the extra cost and handle all official traveling of employees efficiently. Marakanda Sweden AB will be able to allocate the traveling expenses in an organized manner with the support of the system, which will provide a high-quality service for employees. System will take care of all the calculations regarding traveling allowances paid to the employees for their official visits. The system is focusing on providing a three-tired architecture web based solution under the open source software environment, which interconnecting together the external travel agents to do the bookings such as flight reservations, hotel bookings, train tickets, and taxi service. In addition to this three-tiered architecture it has used the component based architecture to introduce advance concepts to the project. As a result the development time has reduced a lot while reusability of the components and stability of the project increased rapidly. Objective of this report is to analyze the general introduction of the areas that the system covers and the literacy survey done for the system and the requirements. This also intended to cover the current status of the system life cycle and the goals achieved as at date. According to the project plan, concepts and system design were covered. Currently, the system is in the testing and user acceptance stage of its life cycle. en_US
