dc.description.abstract Discussion and effort of conservation often generate a dilemmatic debate between how to maintain the condition of historic heritage with the effort to adjust the condition to contemporary era. Conservation activities in housing and residential environment should be abl to harmonize these two things, so they can create a sustainability, ranging from traditional sustainability of existing homes, maintain the sustainability of residential, socio-economic sustainability and the sustainability of the natural environment. In order to achieve harmony, between old tradition, historic value and modernisation, it is important to find the local wisdom by increase the community participation.
