dc.description.abstract In almost all the countries construction industry is one of the backbones of the countries' economy. In this respect the importance of a healthy construction industry in such countries is beyond doubt. The purpose of this study is to address the problem of selecting suitable construction procurement in Post Disaster Reconstruction scenarios. Wrong selection of construction procurement leads to enough problems in terms of all ultimately. The attempts were made to identify and analyze the factors which are highly influencing in the selection of a procurement system for disaster reconstruction projects. Questionnaire survey was conducted, to extract a set of exclusive factors and their ranks and to identify the suitability of available construction procurement options for disaster reconstruction projects with participation of procurement experts who are engaged in disaster reconstruction procurement selection. The panel represents the client, consultant and contractor organizations. Construction Time, Price Certainty, Accountability & Transparency were identified as the most important factors in disaster reconstruction procurement selection. Design and Build was identified as the most appropriate procurement system to procure the disaster reconstruction projects. Through the analysis of rank of each factor in each type of organization, Client. Consultant and Contractor, it was identified the procurement selection criteria of these three types of organizations differs from each other.
