dc.description.abstract Most of the structures are made of reinforced concrete because its load carrying capacity and durability. But the strength of reinforced concrete can be reduced due to several reasons such as corrosion of the steel, accidental damages, etc. Hence to enhance the earning capacity, various techniques have been used. The use of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) is one of the latest techniques. In this research, the behavior of the TRP wrapped reinforced beams were studied and tested. Four samples were tested under two different loading arrangements. The increment of shear carrying capacity of the FRP reinforced beams was experimentally observed and results were compared. Externally wrapped IRP can enhance the shear carrying capacity of the reinforced concrete beams.
