Abstract:
This empirical study is based on the perceived effectiveness of the performance management system in information technology (IT) organizations in Sri Lanka and the sample consists of 88 employees working in the capacity of executives. This study focuses on factors that are responsible for effectiveness of performance management system and its association with organization and individuals goals and employee satisfaction in performance management system. Also the findings of this study are congruent with the research that emphasizes the importance of procedural fairness over the techniques and instruments. The results indicates that the fairness perception in performance management is the most important variable in explaining employee satisfaction in performance management.
