dc.description.abstract A comparative study of the use of rice and cassava starches for the production of adhesives was investigated. Viscosity and tensile measurements were examined with varying alkali concentrations and the effect of standing time was also tested. Although rice starch based adhesives showed better adhesion characteristics than cassava starch, viscosity stability of rice starch based adhesives have to be improved further.
