A comprehensive platform for developing rural agriculture

Abstract

To achieve sustainable economic growth of the rural agricultural ecosystem, the infusion of information technology (IT) is imperative. Bringing the growth influencing factors such as, the agro information support systems and the financial management systems into a common IT platform can facilitate continuous growth of the rural community by generating long term revenue streams. In this research, a robust IT based platform is proposed which not only amalgamate the growth factors into a novel common platform but also will provide a window to the local/global markets via its implementation. The proposed solution incorporates domain knowledge of the farmers via a neural network to enhance the decision making when it comes to funding as well as other agro information such as quantity of fertilizer, and crop information.
