dc.description.abstract Use of "Rubber" (Hevea basiliensis) timber in furniture manufacture is very common today. Though it has very good strength and nail holding properties, comparable with best quality timber such as "Teak" (Techtona randis), it is quickly attacked by borer like any other sap containing wood, and thus needs chemical treatment, such as boron impregnation before being used in industry. Unlike in the case of toys it is essential to ensure perfect penetration through out the cross-section in the manufacture of durable items such as furniture. en_US
