Abstract:
As nations industnalized people benefited greatlY from the advances in technology but IJJith negative effects of
pollution and production of hazardous waste. On the other hand, with growing demand for raw materials for
industrial production the non-renewable resources are declining graduallY. Disposing of a'!Y kind of waste including
industrial hazardous wastes is a loss of resource as disposed wastes contain a lot of reusable substance of high value
as one industry's hazardous tuaste could be resource to another industry. This paper aims to present aframework
to manage industrial hazardous waste through a collaborative strategy in Sri Lanka. The study was conducted
through survry approach and semi structured interviews n/ere carried out to elicit relevant opinions from industry
professionals and waste management experts. Content analYsis was used to arrivefindings of the research. Findings
revealed that fClv collaborative strategies for industrial hazardous u/aste management are exist while more to
implement.
