Cellulose is a substance with a high commercial value it can be extracted either from plants or from bacteria Comparing the n\ two types. bacterial cellulose has unique mechanical and physical characteristics than that of plant cellulose Bacterial cellulose is conventionally cultivated in a static medium However for continuous mass production the static method is not very suitable or efficient, Hence, studies were carried out to overcome the limitations and the disadvantages of static cultivation by means of a rotating biological contactor. In this design perforated plates were used as a holding ground for the bacterial cellulose to and the rotating mechanism allowed better oxygen transmission which increased the yield.
