Reflecting on emerging trends in the built environment is significant in understanding the past, present and future of the local and global aspects of human development. This paper focuses on gate houses in institutional buildings and explores the emerging trends in designing entrances and the under!Jing factors that forced their change along, with their contribution to regional identity.
