The use of eLearning has rapidly evolved with the growth of ICT. It has been identified that the interactivity is the pillar that leads to a success in eLearning based education. Educators in their individual capacity, as well as the educational institutions in their organizational capacity, have started paying much attention to maintaining interactions since it is proven to prompt knowledge construction in the brain and lead to a meaningful, satisfactory learning. Nevertheless many educators are facing challenges in designing, developing and facilitating interactions in their eLearning based educational processes since it is difficult to benchmark interactivity in online education. In this paper, we propose a framework to measure interactivity in a quantitative manner. This framework will be beneficial to the educators to identify the level of interactivity of their courses in terms of online learning. This framework was tested and evaluated using 400 undergraduate students who used eLearning based methods for their daily educational purposes. The results show that there is a significant relationship of the components in the framework to learning outcomes, thereby proving that a higher level of interactivity in eLearning contributes to obtaining an effective level of learning.en_US
