Eco-Friendly and sustainable paper production from waste banana corm fibers: extraction, process optimization, and performance evaluation

Abstract

This research study investigates the extraction of fibers from banana corms and their application in the production of paper as an alternative to traditional wood pulp-based papers. Conventional wood-based paper production methods have precipitated grave environmental concerns, contributing to deforestation, climate change, and biodiversity loss. To address these pressing issues, it is imperative to explore sustainable alternatives. This study aims to examine the feasibility of using banana corm as a sustainable raw material for paper production. This research explored the potential of banana corms as a source of valuable fibers.
