The construction sector is one of the most hazardous industries, with high rates of accidents and work-related diseases, particularly in developing nations [1], [2]. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), construction workers face twice the number of work-related illnesses and injuries compared to other industries [3]. These risks can be mitigated through effective safety measures, as outlined by regulations such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), which aim to improve worker safety and project efficiency [4].
Ergonomics plays a crucial role in enhancing safety and productivity in construction, where workers face physical strain from heavy lifting, awkward postures, and repetitive movements [2]. By adapting tools, equipment, and workspaces to workers' natural movements, ergonomic strategies reduce musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and improve worker health and morale [3]. Studies show that ergonomic interventions can lower the risk of work-related injuries by up to 40%, reducing absenteeism and project delays [5].
