dc.description.abstract | Mass transfer modeling was used to study the extraction efficiency and the effect of temperature on solvent extraction of chlorophyll from. Alternanthera sessilis, which is a leafy vegetable cultivated in tropics and sub tropics. Aqueous I acetone with 80% (v/v) was used as the solvent and the chlorophyll concentration was analyzed spectrophotometrically. The experimental results were in good agreement with the model data for temperatures | below 30 C. The degradation of chlorophyll beyond 30 C was found to be significant. | |
