It is desirable to repair and reuse reinforced concrete structures from the point of view of sustainability. The strengthening may be needed to prolong the life of deteriorated members and this study the attention is placed on restoring or improving the load carrying capacity of reinforced concrete beams. This paper presents the results of experimental programme intended to evaluate the contribution of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP) laminates towards the shear strength and structural strength of reinforced concrete beams. The test results indicated that significant enhancement ;j I,I,ld carrying capacity of the beams under flexure and shear could be achieved with CFRP installed in a crtain manner.en_US
