dc.description.abstractIn the Center of all the previous accusation is a term, which we all use as currency to talk to each other on a daily basis. 'PLACE' has become a term which has received a great deal of attention, in the recent past. It has become the central issue, in many disciplines, especially in Architecture. As the central issue, place has many effects people at many levels. Thus, it is important to get a clearer understanding of this enigmatic term, in order comprehend its significance. What do we really mean by 'Place'? The term is used in a plethora of expressions. As a general definition, place can be refered to as a concrete spatial locality, but also as an imaginary, mythic or literary location, which is not limited by dimensions. No matter which way it is defined, what all places that constitute the necessary condition for their existence have in common is, their intrinsic to transmit meaning. As an inherent necessity, man needs to belong to place, to feel comfortable, and to feel as one with his environment. This contributes to the identification, and orientation of man in the uncertainty of the surrounding world. Apart from identity, as a territorial entity, place provides security and stimulation, by creating a close provides security and stimulation, by creating a close sense of attachment in the human mind. Consequently, it uplifts man's inner needs and emotions physically, socially, and psychologically.
