The study and evaluation of the lake water surface is quite useful in studying the freshwater supply inclination, incorporates the control of water resources and even environmental concerns. The time sequences, which are estimation of surface water bodies dynamics, should also be emphasized for effective water resources management, disasters mitigation, and environmental monitoring and control [1], [2]. A water budget is showing the relation between changes in water levels and the total quantity of water available in the region. Water budgeting is important for various reasons, including electric energy generation, agricultural development and water consumption management. The evaluation of satellite data can be very helpful in the water budget analysis since these can facilitate effective classification of water bodies and their condition as well as the management of water resources based on such data. The evaluation deals with the water surface area of a water body from different satellite imageries. In this research, it is intended to use satellite images, namely, Landsat 8, Sentinel-1 SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) and Sentinel-2 in order to evaluate and do a comparison on the surface area of the Victoria water reservoir located in Sri Lanka.
