| dc.description.abstract | Textile & Apparel industry produces around 92 million tons of textile waste every year. The waste included both bio-degradable and non-biodegradable fibers. Therefore, the impact of waste on the environment is huge, which makes waste management a critical factor. Since upcycling is one of the most sustainable solutions for waste management, innovators have been encouraged to focus more on upcycling methods. In this research, recycled polyester fiber waste from a spinning mill and polyester fiber waste from the filling industry is used. Waste fibers are mixed with cement and chip powder to produce fiber-reinforced cement paving blocks. The vibropressing method is used as the manufacturing method and different fiber contents and fiber lengths are used to investigate the effect of the addition of fibers on the properties of the paving blocks. | |
