The aspects and techniques of design manual “Design of Buildings for high winds – Sri Lanka” is briefly discussed. The paper highlights the actions that were taken by Sri Lankan Government in order to increase the awareness and improvement of wind engineering in Sri Lanka. Various past research activities and ongoing research projects are discussed with details. Proposed future wind engineering projects in Sri Lanka are also presented in this paper.en_US
