This report describes the project on Developing Design Guidelines for Economical Greenfield Self Supporting Telecommunication Towers funded by the Senate Research Committee of the University of Moratuwa. The report explains the need for the project, the objectives, methodology and the scope of work that was carried out. It discusses the literature that was studied to determine existing design guidelines and current design methods that are adopted in the design of such towers. The findings from a survey of towers recently designed are examined and analysed within the report. The report concludes with the outcomes of the project.en_US
