| dc.description.abstract | Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is a popular chemical used in bone bleaching and maceration. The concentration and duration of exposure greatly decides its action; degree of defleshing and bleaching. Experimental studies (n=3) with concentration around 15% have shown desirable outcomes of bones without brittleness within 18 - 24 hours of exposure. However, optimal exposure durations will change depending on bone-related factors, such as with the state of natural defleshing and exposed surface area being the most critical factors. Here we propose a method to design a Visual Grading Scale (VGS) and then to develop a mathematical formula to determine the optimal exposure duration of H2O2 for bone maceration and bleaching | |
