dc.description.abstractThe construction industry significantly contributes to resource shortages and greenhouse gas emissions, necessitating sustainable innovations. Cement-based 3D printing has become a viable option due to its cost-effectiveness, design flexibility, and material economy. With the focus on maximizing both fresh and hardened properties, this study investigates the development of sustainable cement-based mixes specifically designed for Additive Manufacturing (AM) applications. A mix design was developed, including supplementary cementitious materials, such as fly ash and silica fume, by balancing workability, extrudability, and mechanical performance. Findings of this research show that the original mix design showed sufficient rheological characteristics and extrusion capabilities. However, it was unable to reach the desired compressive and flexural strengths. Further work will optimize binder ratios and admixture content to enhance strength, durability, and printability.
