Abstract

This research paper explores the concept of child-friendly cities, emphasizing the incorporation of children's interests and needs in urban planning. Recognizing children as decision-makers and vital stakeholders, this study prioritizes their role in creating inclusive and safe neighborhoods for individuals across all age groups. The paper conducts a comprehensive review of selected best practices that integrate children into mainstream urban planning. Additionally, it examines the perceptions of the urban planning community regarding the involvement of children in the planning process. The findings provide insights into initiatives striving to enhance the inclusion of youth and children in spatial decision-making processes, contributing to the development of more inclusive and accommodating urban environments.
