Abstract

Architecture as an work of art, is an expression of, feeling born in an architects mind Architects intellectual concept generates an image to express his intuitive power. This Image conveys useful message by using various signs and symbol about itself to the beholder. Architecture being an art, its creation are also exposes its creator's intuitive power of imagination and exposes to users preferences there likes, dislike, attitudes and aspirations are also embed into this message Therefore, home can be considered to be a specific creation which could bring this message La the beholder and its acts as a foundation of one's identity as individual. Therefore in this study contemporary houses that was designed by architects for personalities who are engaged in various profession have been selected as best suitable example to analysis this phenomenon. This study at first deals with discussing architecture as an expressive medium then discuss the home and its expressive role, finally the expression of users reference to his preferences will discussed through expressive qualities of built form. The suitable variation of these expressive qualities in Architectural creation and the factor influencing for this will be discussed further. The study mainly analysis by the selected house designed as best example where the reflection of owners individual preferences and its relationship with the particular built environment is distinctively visible. Thereby the study expose that architecture has an ability to express a truthful message about one's individual preferences through there own living environment.
